Fine motor skills involve small muscle groups, especially in the hands and fingers. They are responsible for tasks that require precision and control, such as holding a spoon, turning a page, or pinching a piece of play dough.
During the early years, a child goes through a lot of growth and development. Fine motor skills are integral to this process, enabling the child to explore, understand and cope with their environment. With improved motor skills, children can examine objects more thoroughly, figure out their functionality, and increase their problem-solving skills.
Toys play an important role in sharpening these skills. Holding, pushing, pulling, twisting, or stacking helps develop a child’s fine motor skills. These toys help improve a child’s hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and strength through play. But with the plethora of toys available in the market, choosing the right one can be difficult.
